1. (of a person or animal) having a large amount of excess flesh.

Hi. My name is Maggie, and I’m a fat person. No, I’m not a self-loathing, angry woman who thinks all skinny girls are the devil spawn of satan, thank you very much. What I am is a cubicle dwelling, shy girl with a healthy love for all things chocolate and deep fried. Yeah, I know, I should put down the brownie and pick up a celery stalk, but where is the fun in that? My best friend, Polly, assures me that the club we’re going to tonight is going to be loads of fun, but I’m not sure. Until I meet him.

1. abnormally afraid of water

Yes, Yes. Laugh it up. A 30 year old, sexually Dominant male, who owns his own club, is scared of water. If you’d been through what I had as a child, you’d be fucking terrified of it too. I’ve always looked for Mrs. Right Now, preferring to fling myself from a moving airplane into the Atlantic than to think about settling down. Until she comes walking into Newcomers night at my club.

1. the complex emotional or psychological interaction between two people.

This is Jackson’s world, not mine, but he’s slowly dragging me under, introducing me to things I don’t fully understand, but want to learn. There is something between us. We can’t fight it. We’re both sinking.

“It was hard not to smile when I heard the growl that came from his throat. I may be a big girl, but I knew a lust filled growl when I heard one. Although, vulnerable and exposed, the small noise lifted some of the trepidation that had settled within me. Maybe I really could do this.”

Maggie Sweets is a big girl, she knows it, she deals with it. But with a past like hers, she keeps to herself and refuses to stand up for herself when people put her down. One night out with her bff Polly, they end up at “The Hunt.” A BDSM club where Maggie is looking to maybe try out her sexual side. The minute she walks in she catches the eye of owner Jackson Hunter. And while she’s not his usual type, he can see the vulnerability in her and he’s ready to break this sexy girl out of her shell. He never expected to have feelings for her, this is not what he does… fall for a girl? These two both have dark pasts…. And when Maggie starts to get threats from a unknown person, Jackson is there to protect her….. And to make her realize that she’s “Beautiful inside and out.” But life isn’t the fairytale that we all expect it to be….

If you want a book that gives you sunshine and HEA, then I suggest you walk away now… because this book isn’t the HEA you’ve been looking for. It’s a fierce slap in the face. It’s real life…. We all don’t get the happily ever afters… and sometimes life is dark. Shannon knows how to make you see this and while you are dealing with this, you’re also realizing, that no matter what your size is… you are beautiful no matter what! I was lucky enough to beta read this and I fell in love the minute I met Maggie. I think we are all Maggie in some way. We all have our insecurities, lord knows I do… but we need that one person, like Jackson to show us… that we are beautiful no matter what!!
